Navigator: Melissa Gradischnig

After 13 years with The Child & Family Policy Center Melissa relocated from Des Moines to Cedar Rapids and now serves as the Community Housing Initiatives Resident Services Program Manager specializing in early-childhood care, health and education, and family-strengthening programs. Organizing parents of young children to help influence the local and state policies that affect them is one of Melissa’s significant contributions as a member of CHI.

Melissa is also the founder/Director of Voices to be Heard, a support group for families that have a loved one incarcerated.  Voices to be Heard started because one mother came to Melissa and saw the need for supporting people that have a loved one incarcerated. Melissa sits on many local and state boards and has done reentry work for over 10 years.

In her free time Melissa enjoys volunteering, reading, spending time with her husband, kids and grandkids.
